Denise, Thank you for your kind comments about my paintings. It was suggested by some artist friends that the purple and the olive green would not work together for "Crossing the Water", but that's the way it was in the photograph I took so that's how I tried to paint it. I'm glad you like it. Thanks again!

oh my the colors in this are wonderful. perfect shades of purple with the olive green and the drape of the fabric is so well done. it also has a great feel for the water moving around them. just lovely.

Two young Amish girls are crossing a large creek. They are sisters and the older takes the arm of her younger sister to help her across. They both have dallied awhile playing in the water and both their dresses are completely wet.

Formal education for the artist began in a one-room schoolhouse in York County where on numerous occasions an impatient teacher applied a ruler to his fingers for drawing bunnies when he should have been doing seatwork. Thankfully, a truce was reached with the teacher before any real damage was done. His formal education eventually culminated in post-graduate work with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education. A teacher and principal for some twenty years, the artist spent the next twenty years as a computer programmer at IBM.
