Artist's Description

On an August morning I sat on the shore, sipping my hot chocolate trying to ward off the 30 degree temperature, as I waited for the sun to lift it's face above the rim of the spectacular mountains before me. Finally, the tips of the mountains began slowly to glow as the sun edged higher in the crystal blue sky. Higher yet it came until the mountain tops shimmered in the sunlight and the lake shore came alive with all of nature's beauty. Even though I felt minuscule in my surroundings, I raised my camera and happily snapped away.

Formal education for the artist began in a one-room schoolhouse in York County where on numerous occasions an impatient teacher applied a ruler to his fingers for drawing bunnies when he should have been doing seatwork. Thankfully, a truce was reached with the teacher before any real damage was done. His formal education eventually culminated in post-graduate work with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education. A teacher and principal for some twenty years, the artist spent the next twenty years as a computer programmer at IBM.
